SN 1005 is a major restoration by the volunteers at the Western Railway Museum. This a wood-side, steel-frame interurban car built in 1912 by Holman of San Francisco. It traveled between San Francisco and Chico, California. Interurbans are a form of transport now lost. They traveled between cities at speeds up to 90 miles per hour, using electricity from a trolley wire. SN 1005 is nearing completion and will be operational in 2010.
The reverser side rails are back and it's time to reassemble the reverser. Excuse this somewhat boring blog posting, it will simply contain the pictures the shop crew needs to rewire the unit correctly. Click on the picture to zoom in a lot.
